A 31-year-old trader has been remanded for five days until January 3 to assist police investigations into attempted murder after allegedly injuring a doctor by ramming his car at the Lingkaran Luar Butterworth toll plaza near Perai on December 28. Magistrate Savinder Singh approved the remand under Section 307 of the Penal Code, but rejected one for the suspect’s 25-year-old wife.
Attempted Murder
The incident stemmed from a dispute when the doctor’s vehicle got stuck in the RFID lane; he asked the suspect to reverse, leading to an argument. Dashcam footage captured the ramming. Both suspects tested positive for drugs in urine tests.
