A woman has shared her emotional distress after discovering that she is legally considered an illegitimate child while preparing for her marriage. The revelation came after 25 years when she began the marriage application process at the religious office.

According to her account, her parents were initially married in Thailand before registering their marriage in Malaysia at a later date. However, this discrepancy in registration dates caused official records to suggest she was born before the marriage was legally recognized.
The issue has significantly affected her wedding plans, particularly regarding the appointment of a legal guardian (wali), potentially requiring a wali hakim. She also expressed frustration after already spending a large sum on wedding preparations, only to face uncertainty. Many have advised her to seek help from a Syariah lawyer or religious authorities to resolve the matter.
