Commuters hoping for women‑only carriages on the newly opened LRT Shah Alam Line (LRT3) may need to wait longer, as Prasarana President and Group CEO Amir Hamdan confirmed the proposal remains under review. 

Prasarana CEO Explains Constraints of Three‑Car Trains 

He explained that with three‑car trains, a women‑only carriage would likely be the middle one, but no timeline has been set. Amir noted smooth operations since launch, with peak‑hour frequencies at eight minutes and ridership estimates between 5,000 and 10,000. 

He added that Prasarana will monitor usage patterns closely before making adjustments, ensuring future improvements align with passenger demand and operational capacity.
