Roberto Carlos, the Brazilian defender and World Cup winner made an unusual return to action on Friday, playing for a Shropshire-based Sunday league team to score a goal.
He got a place in the team after winning a charity ‘Dream Transfer’ raffle on eBay in January. The 48-year-old ex-Real Madrid full-back made a debut for Shrewsbury side Bull in the Barne United, named after a local bar.
He scored a penalty for the team but his ‘new’ team lost the match to Harlescott Rangers.
