Defending champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik moved closer to retaining their title after cruising into the Singapore Open quarterfinals today. In their second-round match, the Malaysian pair defeated England’s Ben Lane-Sean Vendy 21-18, 21-16.

Although the English duo posed some resistance in the first set, Chia-Wooi Yik maintained composure to secure victory. The second set saw only five tied scores before the Malaysians pulled away to seal the win. Their next challenge will be China’s Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang, currently ranked fifth in the world, in what promises to be a high-stakes quarterfinal clash.
