NINGBO – Malaysia’s men’s doubles stars Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik showed resilience to defeat China’s Hu Ke Yuan–Lin Xiang Yi in the Badminton Asia Championships 2026. The world No. 2 pair secured a 22-20, 21-19 victory in 43 minutes at the Ningbo Olympic Sports Centre.

Trailing 20-17 in the opener, they reeled off five points to snatch it before closing out the second game under pressure. Their win comes after early exits of other Malaysian pairs, keeping hopes alive. The defending champions will next face South Korea’s Kang Min Hyuk–Ki Dong Joo in the quarterfinals.
