It was 1948, the end of World War II, and life was slowly getting back to normal. Residents in Chillicothe, Ohio, on the other hand, were frightened when they heard a loud explosion. When the scene was investigated, it was discovered that a steam railway engine had burst, with strange prongs protruding from it.
As boiling hot water from the steam engine splashed all over them, melting their flesh, the train’s crew died. For the residents of that small rural American community, it was a terrifying sight. The reason of the explosion is thought to be a lack of water in the boiler, which caused the train to overheat.
The prongs were actually pipelines designed to transfer hot air and boil water for steam to be produced, which is why it looks eerie after the explosion. Steam engines moved because of the steam that was produced. Many people believe that steam engines are actually incredibly powerful, and that we should not underestimate their capability.
