Singapore police arrested a 54-year-old Australian man on March 17 after he allegedly stole two Hugo Boss windbreakers worth $842.20 from a retail outlet in Changi Airport’s Terminal 1 transit area. Officers from the Airport Police Division swiftly identified and detained the suspect before he could leave the country, recovering the stolen items in the process.

The man will face charges in court on March 25 for theft in dwelling, an offence punishable by up to seven years in prison and/or a fine. Authorities stressed their firm stance against shop theft, warning offenders cannot evade detection.
