LONDON – Starting Feb 25, visitors from 85 countries, including Singapore and Malaysia, must secure an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling to Britain, the Interior Ministry announced. The £16 permit, introduced in 2023 and extended to European visitors in 2025, will now be strictly enforced.
ETA Scheme
Airlines will bar passengers without an ETA, eVisa, or valid documentation. British and Irish citizens are exempt. Migration Minister Mike Tapp said the scheme strengthens border security and modernises entry processes. The move comes as the EU rolls out its own digital Entry/Exit System for British nationals. — Reuters
