A 38-year-old Chinese national has been sentenced to eight weeks in jail in Singapore for spitting at an immigration officer after being denied entry at Changi Airport. The incident occurred on August 16 when the man, frustrated at being barred from entering, shouted at officers and refused to cooperate.

Court records revealed he was taken to a waiting lounge for deportation but continued causing a scene, prompting four ICA officers to restrain him. During the process, he spat at one officer. The prosecution said his actions were humiliating and disrespectful to public institutions. He later pleaded guilty and expressed remorse.
