On April 9, Pamela Ling, 42, vanished while heading to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya in an e-hailing vehicle to give a statement. Police suspect she was abducted by impostors posing as officers, based on witness accounts and CCTV footage. The e-hailing driver’s testimony is under scrutiny, and Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department is assisting Kuala Lumpur police. No ransom demands have surfaced, and Inspector-General Razarudin Husain remains tight-lipped to protect the investigation. The case, probed under Section 365 of the Penal Code, may involve Ling’s wealth or an attempt to discredit MACC and police.
