Man Arrested After Assault at Chinatown Mall, Singapore

A 38-year-old man was arrested after allegedly assaulting a female barista and later attacking a security officer at a mall in Chinatown on May 4. The incident occurred at 18 Cross, a mixed retail and showroom space, around 1pm. Witnesses said the man, initially seated in a café, suddenly punched the barista twice when approached.

Assault at Chinatown Mall

Alarmed staff and customers called for help as bystanders rushed to intervene. One witness, trained in Muay Thai, restrained the man using controlled techniques to avoid injury. The suspect was eventually subdued and handed over to mall security before police arrived.
