He urged the Tourism Ministry to develop a “concert economy” model to strengthen Malaysia’s entertainment tourism against regional competitors.

Woo highlighted Malaysia’s competitive advantages, including lower venue and labour costs, affordable accommodation and transport, and Asia’s best food culture. At the same time, he criticised UMNO Youth Chief Akmal Saleh and Perikatan Nasional for discouraging tourism, calling them “tourist repellers” instead of constructive partners ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026.
