On May 16, 2025, a Singapore-registered Ferrari 458 Spider crashed into a guardrail on a Pahang, Malaysia highway, en route to Cherating. The 10:40 AM accident caused the convertible to burst into flames, leaving it a charred wreck. The driver, a 34-year-old Singaporean IT engineer, and his 33-year-old Hong Kong girlfriend escaped unharmed. “The car lost control suddenly and collided into the guard rail, causing it to be engulfed in flames entirely,” said Rompin police chief Superintendent Sharif Shai Sharif Mondoi. Part of a 13-Ferrari convoy, the driver was fined for losing control, with investigations ongoing under the Road Traffic Act.
