Why Is The Grave of A UPSI Crash Victim Now Protected With Barriers?

1 min read

BESUT: The family of Nurly Shahirah Azman, a 23-year-old hafizah (memoriser of the Islamic holy book) killed in a tragic UPSI bus crash on June 9, installed barriers around her grave at Kampung Gong Pasir Islamic Cemetery on Saturday to prevent superstitious acts. Her brother, Mohd Najmuddin Azman, said the barriers aim to deter visitors from engaging in un-Islamic practices, such as taking grave soil or rubbing it on faces, which could desecrate the grave’s sanctity. The family also planted trees and placed stones on the grave, with periodic patrols to ensure respect. Visitors are barred from July 2-5.
