Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) “Turun Anwar” rallies will not topple Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, said veteran journalist Datuk A. Kadir Jasin. He stressed that only a Dewan Rakyat vote of no confidence or the defeat of a key government bill could remove the premier. Statutory declarations, once a tool of political maneuvering, may no longer hold weight, he added. Kadir noted that unless Anwar loses parliamentary backing, the opposition must wait for the next general election, due in 2028. He also questioned PN’s leadership direction, with Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah Zainudin vying for dominance.
