PORT DICKSON, July 28 – Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun has unveiled plans to transform Linggi into a new tourism and economic hub, pledging to upgrade facilities and diversify opportunities for local communities, especially fishermen. Contesting the Linggi state seat under Pakatan Harapan (PH), Aminuddin said development along Sungai Linggi would be prioritised if he secures the mandate in the upcoming state election.
He explained that the existing jetty at Sungai Linggi would be upgraded into a waterfront square to attract more visitors and entrepreneurs, creating alternative income streams for residents. “With tourism, fishermen can shift focus beyond fishing and explore new economic opportunities,” he said during a campaign stop in Kampung Pengkalan Durian.

Aminuddin also highlighted Linggi’s potential in port and industrial development, citing the upcoming Midport project in Pasir Panjang, Malaysia’s first AI-driven port, as a “game changer” for the constituency. He believes integrated growth in tourism, port, and industry will make Linggi more dynamic and generate jobs for locals. Linggi, with 18,420 voters, is considered a hot seat in the state polls, featuring a three-way contest between Aminuddin, BN incumbent Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, and Bersatu’s Datuk Zamri Md Said.
