He labeled the LGBTQ+ community as a “primary enemy” contributing to moral decay and health issues like sexually transmitted infections. Terengganu’s move has sparked backlash from human rights lawyers, including Rajesh Nagarajan, who criticised it as hate-driven and invasive.
He also condemned the federal government’s silence and Malaysia’s failure to ratify the ICCPR, which he says could help protect LGBTQ+ rights and combat hate crimes.
