Over 130 foreign travellers were denied entry at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) for failing to meet Malaysia’s basic entry requirements. During a screening operation on July 11, authorities inspected more than 300 individuals and found 131—mostly from Bangladesh and Pakistan—breached immigration rules.

Offences included suspicious hotel bookings, skipping immigration counters, and carrying insufficient funds. Some travellers had only RM500 while claiming to stay for a month. The Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) said such behaviour suggests questionable intent and threatens border security. Officials stressed that strict checks are vital to protect national interests and uphold immigration integrity.
