A man died and another was injured after being gored by buffaloes meant for sacrificial rites in two separate incidents in Ulu Tiram, Johor Bahru. Seri Alam police chief Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the first victim, 45, was attacked in Kampung Tenang at 10am on May 27 and later died at Hospital Sultanah Aminah from vascular injuries to his left leg.

The case was classified as sudden death. Hours later, another 45‑year‑old man suffered a fractured rib after being gored in Kampung Sungai Tiram. He is receiving treatment at Hospital Sultan Ismail. Police referred both cases to veterinary authorities.
