The motorcyclist critically injured in a Persiaran Kota crash on May 13 has died after battling for his life for 13 days. Zulfiqar Zamir, 26, succumbed to his injuries on May 26, with his body laid to rest at Hutan Melintang Muslim Cemetery in Perak. The driver, Low Kean Peng, 35, had earlier pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol, with a blood alcohol level of 196 mg per 100 ml—exceeding the legal limit.

Zulfiqar’s father, Amirul Nizam Abdul Aziz, said the family will pursue civil action, stressing strict accountability is needed. He described Zulfiqar as the family’s backbone, whose dreams of starting a business and family this year will remain unfulfilled.
