KUALA LUMPUR – Tasek Gelugor MP Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan alleged that Bersatu president Tan Sri Mahiaddin Yassin is the main factor behind the strained relationship between Bersatu and Pas within Perikatan Nasional. He asserted that Mahiaddin has lost majority support among Bersatu members, with grassroots and division leaders in several states voicing rejection of his leadership.

Internal pressure for him to step down as president is growing. Wan Saiful also criticized the condition that only party presidents can chair PN, describing it as an unnecessary obstacle, while stressing that many believe Pas is best suited to lead the coalition.
