A security guard testified at the Papar Coroner’s Court that she discovered the late Zara Qairina Mahathir unconscious in a drain with neck injuries around 3 am on July 16.

Linah Mansoding @ Jaliha, 65, who has worked at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Agama Tun Datu Mustapha since 2012, said she had earlier conducted a patrol at the female hostel blocks without noticing anything unusual.
She was later alerted by a student that someone had fainted near the Rabiatul Adawiyah Block. Linah told Coroner Judge Amir Shah Amir Hassan that she found Zara lying on her back, bleeding and unresponsive.
