The opening of the new Apple store in TRX shows that Malaysians are strangely obsessed with said brand. Fast food corporations like McDonalds, KFC and other brands were unfortunately boycotted. Netizens state it is rather hypocritical for those to attend the Apple store grand opening but are boycotting these other companies.

Additionally, our local coffee brand, Zus Coffee was also unjustly boycotted by some. An X user states that as long as there are no proper alternatives to the brands that are being boycotted, there is relatively no other choice for the consumer to choose from.
Others defend their stance on the selective boycotts. But, it appears that some are tired of the guilt tripping that those are forcing others to face.
