PAC Slams Government Over Rejection of DBKL Council Proposal

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s rejection of its recommendation to amend laws enabling appointed council members in DBKL. Chair Mas Ermieyati Samsudin warned the decision undermines transparency and checks‑and‑balances in Kuala Lumpur’s administration. 

DBKL Governance Under Fire as PAC Pushes for Reform

PAC reiterated calls to restore the chairmanship of the Federal Territories Land Working Committee to the minister, and criticized the lack of meaningful engagement with MPs on land approvals. The committee urged Putrajaya to show political will by reconsidering reforms, stressing that failure to act risks sidelining public voices and weakening governance in the capital’s land management.
