Recently, social media was abuzz about a Malaysian child psychiatrist sentenced to eight years and six months for child grooming and abusing an Irish teenager. The suspect, Amirul Arif Mohd Yunos, is reportedly the brother of Dr. Halina Mohd Yunos.
Malaysian Psychiatrist Jailed for Child Grooming in Ireland
Netizens attacked Dr. Halina’s Instagram, accusing her of supporting her brother. Amirul admitted guilt to six charges and has been in custody for 14 months. The abuse included inappropriate touching and oral sex.
Amirul offered the victim €2,000 as compensation. The court considered his early guilty plea and lack of prior criminal record in sentencing.
