When Rayani Air first commenced, Malaysians were unhappy with them being a Halal airline. This is due to the fact that transportation services would generally not be deemed as “Halal” or “haram.” Regardless, the talks on making these companies follow prayer schedules are not a popular opinion among netizens.
The failure of Rayani Air
Others state that passengers can book flights that would appropriately fit the passenger’s schedule. However, airlines that regularly have flights that are delayed are not penalized. This could also make a passenger miss their prayer times. With AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines combined, there are a flexible amount of flights domestically and internationally a day.
Netizens are stating that the deputy Minister who suggested the idea should start his own shariah compliant airline. Unfortunately, an example of one was Rayani Air, and it folded after a year of operations. There are those questioning the idea of said airline as it was founded by a non-Muslim.
