The Seremban Sessions Court awarded over RM200,000 in damages to a mother and her seven-year-old daughter injured by their neighbor’s Rottweilers five years ago. Judge Surita Budin found Lim Chwee Tin liable after the dogs attacked the girl while she and her mother were walking home. The mother was bitten while trying to protect her daughter. Lim argued the dogs were provoked, but the judge noted their aggressive reputation and prior incidents. The court awarded RM95,000 in general damages, RM36,469.60 in special damages, and RM88,000 for lost income, emphasizing the defendant’s failure to secure her dogs properly.
