Researchers launched a preliminary probe into soil cracks at a farm along Jalan Buloh Kasap, Segamat, following a series of mild earthquakes. A team from Johor’s Minerals and Geosciences Department, MetMalaysia, and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia conducted fieldwork using ABEM Terrameter LS 2 equipment to study underground structures. Authorities, including Johor JMG director Noorazhar Ngatimin, were present during the inspection. A farm owner welcomed the swift response, noting her property had been affected by five tremors since August 24, the strongest measuring 4.1 magnitude.
