KUALA LUMPUR: The National Unity Ministry has lodged a report with the MCMC against social media user Amir Ridhwaan for inciting racial hatred over the relocation of the 130-year-old Dewi Sri Pathrakaliamman Temple in Jalan Masjid India. Minister Aaron Ago Dagang condemned Amir’s call for a repeat of the May 13 riots and his derogatory remarks against the Indian community, including slurs and accusations of illegal temple construction. Aaron urged responsible social media use under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, stressing Malaysia’s multicultural harmony. An “urgent” town hall is set for April 6 to address the controversy.
