C4 now demands action over govt-Bestinet deal

The Center to Combat Corruption and Cronyism (C4) urges government action following a Public Accounts Committee report revealing the migrant labour recruitment system’s six-year operation without a formal contract. Despite issuing an acceptance letter for the Foreign Workers’ Centralised Management System (FWCMS) in January 2018, the government and service provider Bestinet have yet to sign a contract.

The company, mired in controversy and raided for alleged corruption in 2022, was nonetheless granted a three-year contract extension. C4 calls for transparency and accountability, questioning the government’s decision and demanding investigation and reforms to address the issue and ensure oversight.
