Story (100 words): PUTRAJAYA – The Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ibrahim, has approved the appointment of former High Court Judge Datuk Seri Abdul Halim Aman as the new Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), effective May 13, 2026.

Chief Secretary to the Government, Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar, said the appointment was made under subsection 5(1) of the MACC Act 2009. He expressed confidence that Abdul Halim’s extensive experience and integrity will strengthen governance and boost public trust in anti-corruption efforts. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim presented the proposal to His Majesty prior to the appointment.
