Journalists with valid accreditation cards will enjoy a one-time 50% discount on return AirAsia flights to 57 Southeast Asian destinations, announced Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil. The offer, valid for bookings until Dec 31, 2025, with travel between April and September 2026, celebrates Malaysia’s ASEAN chairmanship. Fahmi also confirmed the Malaysian Media Council (MMC) has been officially established, comprising 12 members from media companies, associations, practitioners, and civil society. The MMC, now gazetted, provides a permanent platform to address industry concerns. Fahmi made the announcements during the National Journalists Day 2025 Summit at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur.
