Malaysia is at a crossroads and while Seri Anwar Ibrahim is not a perfect leader, his reforms deserve support rather than constant criticism, said Datuk Ismail Yusop, Director-General of J-KOM. He noted Anwar’s decisions to restructure subsidies, end direct negotiations, open transparent tenders, and reorganise finances are difficult but necessary.
“No leader will appear perfect in a short time,” Ismail said.
“We need thiqah – genuine trust that an honest, principled, hardworking leader deserves space.”
He warned Malaysians against rejecting the best leaders in pursuit of perfection, adding:
“The best leaders come with honest actions that sometimes hurt, yet heal.”
Ismail urged citizens to support leadership with trust, knowledge, and patience rather than remain critics who are never satisfied.
