SINGAPORE, June 1 – An inaugural survey revealed that while 61 per cent of respondents consider Singapore’s roads safe, more than three‑quarters believe impatience is the main cause of traffic hazards. Senior Minister of State for Home Affairs Sim Ann announced the findings on May 30 at Community Road Safety Day in Our Tampines Hub.

This markes the start of Singapore Road Safety Month 2026. She noted traffic deaths hit a 10‑year high in 2025 with 149 fatalities, while speeding violations more than doubled between 2023 and 2025. New Traffic Violation Enforcement Cameras have already detected thousands of offences islandwide.
