A member of the Road Transport Department (JPJ) was charged in the Sessions Court today for allegedly receiving a bribe of RM1,400 from a transportation company three years ago. The accused, Che Fazdlie Izwan Che Johari, pleaded not guilty to two charges read before Judge Elesabet Paya Wan.
JPJ Officer Accused
The JPJ officer is accused of accepting a sum of RM700 without reciprocation from a company manager as an incentive not to take action against the company’s lorry driver.
The offences were allegedly committed at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) Cawangan Batu Berendam in Melaka Tengah on 6 February and 3 June 2020.
