PETALING JAYA, June 5 – The Negeri Sembilan legislative assembly will be dissolved today, paving the way for the 16th state election within 60 days. Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun confirmed Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir had consented to the dissolution, following weeks of political tension after Umno assemblymen withdrew support.

Both Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Umno leaders later agreed dissolution was the cleanest resolution. Aminuddin said PH will contest all 36 seats, with distributions finalised. In 2023, PH won 17 seats, BN 14, and PN five. The move returns the mandate to voters to decide Negeri Sembilan’s future.
