JOHOR BAHRU, 23 May — Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi alleged his smartphone was monitored and targeted by mercenary spyware after receiving an Apple warning alert. He said the incident raised serious concerns about data security, privacy, and digital intrusion.

Onn Hafiz, who is also Johor UMNO and BN chairman, condemned all forms of surveillance and misuse of technology. He confirmed plans to lodge a police report and file an official complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for a full investigation. He urged strong action under the law to protect individuals’ rights and safety.
