Bersatu Johor is prepared to cooperate with parties under the Ikatan Prihatin Rakyat (IPR) platform in the upcoming Johor state election. Election director Rashid Hasnon said the move aims to prevent vote fragmentation among opposition parties with similar goals.
PAS Track Record in Johor Highlights Need for Alliances
He stressed that while IPR parties are not part of Perikatan Nasional (PN), electoral pacts can still be formed. Rashid noted PAS’s limited track record in Johor without coalition support, underscoring the importance of alliances.
Bersatu will launch its election machinery in Muar, with Rashid leaving his candidacy decision to party leadership. IPR currently unites 11 opposition parties.
