KUALA LUMPUR — Police are investigating both online misinformation and procedural lapses linked to the death of 13-year-old Zara Qairina Mahathir. Bukit Aman CID director Datuk M Kumar S Muthuvelu said a TikTok account, @berjuanguntukzara, is being probed under the Sedition Act, Penal Code Section 505(b), and Communications and Multimedia Act for spreading inaccurate content. Meanwhile, Bukit Aman’s Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS) will take disciplinary action against three Sabah officers, including a district police chief, for failing to ensure proper procedures, including a post-mortem request, during the initial investigation into Zara’s death in Papar, Sabah.
