Kuala Lumpur: The photos of bodies stacked in hospitals in Malaysia are real, reports the Singapore Straits Times today.

The paper quotes undertaker Muhammad Rafieudin Zainal Rasid who says the viral photos of bodies stacked are real.

Rafieudin who is now working round the clock says some bodies have to be kept in the morgue for three or four days.

He says now he is handling as many as 30 Covid-19 funerals a day.

The number of Covid-19 fatalities in Malaysia rose to a record 207 on Monday (July 26) and also Tuesday. 

This figure is projected to escalate further and may reach 300 deaths nationwide.
