Top Students Appeal for Citizenship After Being Denied by Malaysia

Three high-achieving students have appealed to Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution to resolve their citizenship status, fearing their dreams will be crushed by bureaucratic confusion. At a Lawyers for Liberty (LFL) press conference, Virman Juri, 26, a double degree holder and scholarship recipient, revealed he is still fighting for citizenship recognition.

STPM top scorer Keshwin Satkunavel and SPM ace Mathish also expressed frustration after being denied their rights. Despite being adopted by Malaysian citizens and holding MyKid, their MyKad applications were rejected, and citizenship withdrawn. LFL condemned this as cruel and called it a failure of the government’s responsibility to protect innocent youth.
