After 18 months, investigations into alleged misuse of medical visas—affecting 20,000 visas—have moved from EAIC to police. The AGC confirmed Bukit Aman CID received the probe file on Nov 27, 2025, with further investigative directives issued Jan 9, 2026.
Visa‑Misuse Investigation Continues After 18 Months
The file has not yet been returned for a final decision, said deputy public prosecutor Nor Azizah Aling. EAIC formed a task force in Oct 2024 and, after ten months, referred criminal charges against suspected Immigration Department officers to the AGC in July 2025.
