The Johor Bahru High Court sentenced former dental prosthetist Lim Siong Kim, 42, to 35 years in prison and 12 strokes of the cane for murdering his girlfriend, Teo Kang Ling, in 2019. Judge Atan Mustaffa Yussof Ahmad ruled the defence failed to raise reasonable doubt, noting Lim was last seen with the victim and her DNA was found in his workshop.

A friend testified he helped dispose of the victim’s body, while Lim guided police to the dumping site. The victim’s cause of death was drowning due to respiratory tract obstruction.
