KUALA LUMPUR – A 31-year-old army officer was arrested after driving under the influence and crashing into an e-hailing MPV on the MEX Highway early Friday morning. The collision, involving a Ford Fiesta and a Perodua Alza, killed a 22-year-old Bangladeshi passenger instantly due to severe head injuries.

Another Bangladeshi woman, 20, and the 41-year-old MPV driver sustained injuries, while the officer and his 36-year-old female passenger were also hurt. Breathalyser tests showed alcohol levels above the legal limit. Police confirmed investigations under Section 44(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. The suspect remains in custody.
