Malaysia Airlines will retime selected flights arriving at and departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 following temporary airspace closures for the 69th National Day celebrations. The closures are needed for rehearsals and the National Day Flypast 2026, temporarily suspending aircraft take-offs and landings during selected periods.

The temporary closures are scheduled from 11am to noon on August 26 to 28, and from 8.45am to 9.45am on August 29 and 31. Malaysia Airlines said affected passengers would be notified through their registered contact details and advised travellers to check their latest flight status before heading to the airport.
With the school holidays and peak travel period running from August 26 to September 6, passengers departing from KLIA Terminal 1 are advised to arrive at least four hours before departure. The airline also warned of potentially longer waiting times at check-in, immigration and security checkpoints, while reminding passengers that check-in closes 60 minutes before departure and boarding gates close 30 minutes before departure.
