KUALA LUMPUR, 23 May — Malaysia is assured of a representative in the men’s doubles final of the Malaysia Masters 2026 after national pairs Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Mohd Rumsani set up a thrilling all-Malaysian semi-final clash.
At the Unifi Arena, Aaron-Wooi Yik cruised past China’s Hu Ke Yuan-Lin Xian Yi 21-14, 21-15 in just 35 minutes. Aaron admitted tomorrow’s clash will be tough but welcomed the certainty of a Malaysian finalist. On paper, Aaron-Wooi Yik hold the advantage, winning six of their past eight meetings against Sze Fei-Izzuddin.

Meanwhile, Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin battled hard to overcome Japan’s eighth seeds Kakeru Kumagai-Hiroki Nishi 21-17, 16-21, 21-16 in 53 minutes, crediting home fans for their vocal support. Earlier, Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King also advanced after defeating American pair Chen Zhi Yi-Presley Smith. The Super 500 tournament runs until May 24 with a USD500,000 prize purse.
