Bersatu will remain a component of Perikatan Nasional despite tensions with PAS, said party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Speaking in Bakri, Johor, he stressed Bersatu had no intention of leaving the coalition it helped build. Muhyiddin noted that removing a component party requires consensus from the Presidential Council, not unilateral action.

He dismissed claims Bersatu should exit, highlighting its role in championing people’s interests, including cost‑of‑living issues. The Pagoh MP confirmed Bersatu will contest Johor and Negri Sembilan elections, using either the Perikatan logo or its own, while urging members to stay united and focused on rakyat’s welfare.
