PETALING JAYA, July 12 — A Bersatu Supreme Council member has revealed that PAS is in talks with Umno for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election, sidelining its Perikatan Nasional (PN) partners and underscoring growing tensions between the two parties. The source claimed PAS, which chairs PN, intends to make way for Barisan Nasional (BN) in several key seats, mirroring its Johor strategy where supporters were told to back BN in constituencies not contested by PN.

He criticised PAS for delaying preparations, noting that no PN chief has been appointed for Negeri Sembilan and seat allocations remain unresolved. With 36 seats at stake, the move suggests PAS is prioritising deals with Umno‑BN over strengthening PN, raising questions about the coalition’s unity ahead of the August 1 polls.
