Russian President Vladimir Putin has pledged Moscow’s commitment to ensuring peace in the Middle East during a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi in Saint Petersburg. According to Russian state media, Putin said Russia would do “everything possible” to safeguard regional stability, including addressing Iran’s interests.

Araghchi, upon arrival in Russia, blamed the United States for failed negotiations to end ongoing conflicts, despite a ceasefire remaining in place. Putin also praised the resilience of the Iranian people in defending their independence and sovereignty, adding that Russia intends to continue strengthening its strategic ties with Iran.
